Welcome back to my weekly installment of “Organizing Myself to Health”.

My challenge for this past week has been connecting with other people and finding friends in the journey. I believe surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals is a crucial part of making big life changes.

Are you struggling to make time to get organized or feel overwhelmed to attack that closet? If you don't know a professional organizer to call for help, call a friend. Trade time with each other and attack your organizing projects TOGETHER. More fun and more do-able!!


I joined a closed Facebook group called Simple Health Swaps that is right up my alley of people focusing on making slow changes over time. I’m loving the camaraderie of the group. I asked for a healthy version of a favorite recipe and had a million options within a few minutes. My good friend Erin started the group and leads a series of webinars called Simple Health Swaps. I’ve been listening in and have been so inspired by her and all of her guest speakers. She asked me to fill in for her tomorrow (tonight if you get this by email Wednesday morning) while she is on vacation. Gulp! I am going to share my insights and my story.

Week 7′s challenge –

I’m taking Courtney’s advice (an awesome reader who always has great comments and advice) and take a sugar fast. I’m going to fast for one month, except a homemade desert with Sunday dinner. More about this next week.

  1. I am so happy and proud of you! The first week is the hardest by far, but trust me, when you finish after a month and your cravings are gone, you will be so happy that you did it! I remember the first time I ever did a sugar fast, I did no sugar whatsoever for a month and then I had cake as a celebration at the end. It was way yummy but too rich for me! I definitely couldn’t even eat more than one little piece.
