14 Homemade Gift Ideas

Christmas presents laid on a wooden table background

I’ve been in such a crafting mood lately! Creating something, especially useful or beautiful things, has been so good for my sanity. I was searching blog-land for homemade Christmas Gift Ideas and found so many good ones that I had to share with you. I know I won’t have time to make them all, but these are my favorite ideas I’ll choose from this Christmas.

At the end of this post I am going to share one of my own “homemade” gift ideas. Be excited. Ha!

I pinned all of these ideas to my Homemade Gift Ideas Pinterest board for easy pinning. See my Homemade Gift Ideas Pinterest board HERE.

I’ve been curious about candle-making for a while. I think this might be the season I actually give it a go. {Tutorial from Candy & Clothes}

I really like the idea of this board. I was thinking of writing “Celebrate” and putting more events than just birthdays. We’ll see what I decide when I make it. {Tutorial from Classy Clutter}

I thought these key chains are so cute and easy that I would show this tutorial to my girls so they could make them for grandparents. So many adorable possibilities! {Tutorial from Craftiness is not Optional}

There are more beautiful fabrics that exist in the world than I will ever have time to use. I think an oven mitt would be a chance to show off a really cool fabric that could be a fun kitchen accent that any friend or family member would be excited to receive. {Tutorial from the Crafty Gemini}

I’ve been making rainy day cookies for a long time (flash-freeze cookie balls and then store them in a ziploc bag). This presentation of them is so cute that a super easy thing to make could become a great gift! {Tutorial from I Heart Naptime}

My toddler is getting into playdough mode. Time to break out the homemade version as a stocking stuffer! {Tutorial from Life As Mom}

This tablet holder would be one of those gifts I would have a difficult time actually giving away, which I think is a sign of a great gift. {Tutorial from Mamie Jane’s}

Zipper Pouches have unlimited uses! I made my mom a purse for her birthday. She can expect a matching zipper pouch at Christmas. (Sorry if I just ruined the surprise, Mom!) {Tutorial from the Missouri Star Quilt Company}

I’ve made these before and was reminded of them while I was searching for homemade gifts. This gift is both awesome and practical – win-win! {Tutorial from The Real Thing with the Coake Family}

I realize this is the second candle tutorial on here, but I am REALLY curious about making candles. Whenever I’m learning something very new, I like to learn from more than one source. {Tutorial from Something Turquoise}

I’ve been dreaming of making my own extracts. I love adding extract to lots of my baking (even when it doesn’t call for it). I want to make my own for gifts and have it look this good. {Tutorial from Spoon Fork Bacon}

This gift would be perfect for my husband or my kids – who all have pencils scattered around their desks at all times. {Tutorial from Strawberry Chic}

I tweaked my neck over the weekend, so this tutorial just called to me. Who wouldn’t appreciate having one of these on hand? {Tutorial from The Happy Housewife}

Here is my idea: Makeover a special room in your home for your loved ones. This is a typical gift I give my family members and they have always appreciated it. A few years ago I did my husband’s office, and I’ve also done my girls’ bedrooms as a gift to them as well. Knowing my service is a gift gives me so much pleasure while I work. The gift of service is an excellent way to show a friend or family member that you care! {The time I organized my husband’s office for his birthday.}

Another handmade gift idea is handmade by me. I just added these art sketchbooks to my shop. The high quality paper is insanely fun to write on. {See Art Sketchbooks in 2 sizes HERE}

Don’t forget to stop by Pinterest and pin all of these ideas so you can save them for later!

Merry Christmas! I hope you really enjoy making and giving this year!
